ABOUT “THE WORLD SERIES OF ARCHERY” TOURNAMENT
The World Series of Archery was developed by Michael Braden, and Bret York in a quest to create the perfect archery game. We asked ourselves, “What would the perfect archery game be like?” It would:
-- enable archers to compete for more money than ever before…
-- create an arena where all archers can compete on one playing field…
-- be spectator friendly…
-- be an exciting show to watch on television…
And… It would enable every archer to have a chance to win!!! |
We took a hard look at the other archery games being played today, and didn’t see what we envision as the perfect archery game. We then took a hard look at some of the televised Sports being played, and didn’t see the perfect game, until we came across “The World Series of Poker.” “The World Series of Poker” allows men and women, young and old, amateurs and professionals alike to compete for the same purse and the same championship title. They are competing for an enormous amount of money. There are more than 6,000 competitors putting up thousands of dollars to compete, why, because they all have a chance to WIN!!!
Inspired by the things that make “The World Series of Poker” an extremely popular sport we tried to incorporate some of those traits into the sport of archery.
First and foremost, to give every archer a chance to win! This is done by putting the most enfaces on one (1) arrow during the qualifying round and one (1) arrow during the elimination round. Every archer knows they have some good shots within them.
Then by eliminating all of the classes and enabling archers to qualify multiple times, we will create purses that no archer has ever seen before.
And then we can create an exciting show for television by showcasing the sudden death shoot-off and generating additional excitement with announcers.
The goal of “The World Series of Archery” is to take the sport of archery to the highest level possible…
